20 Things I Will Miss About Living in Seattle

It's true, my Colorado friends, we're coming home! I'm excited to see everyone again, to hike in the Rockies, to get my high altitude lungs back, to have my house back, and to watch those spectacular Colorado sunsets. In three years, though, I've learned to appreciate living on the west coast. I keep mentally adding to this list as the days count down.

1. The spectacle of Mt. Rainier appearing, as if by magic, out of the clouds
2. Pork hom bow at Pike Place Market
3. Flowers at Pike Place Market.
4. Moss
5. 360-degree Fourth of July fireworks from our unincorporated King County cul-de-sac
6. Game nights with Pete and Gen
7. Cougar Gold
8. Hiking to Otter Falls and sitting with my feet in the chilly water
9. Buying vegetables at the Carpinito Bros. farm stand
10. August
11. Overturning rocks to find starfish and crabs at Saltwater State Park
12. Feeding seagulls at Ivar’s on the waterfront
13. Sounders fans
14. Using my umbrella
15. KUOW
16. The beaches at Olympic National Park
17. King County Library System
18. Riding a ferry to an island for a day
19. Taking the light rail into the city for free museum night
20. Hearing a dozen different languages spoken on the street

I moved back to Kelowna from Vancouver, and I did miss some wonderful things about Vancouver. The ocean, English Bay and Stanley Park. It was hard to leave them, even though my heart was in Kelowna.

I should not rejoice as you're having your moment of questioning but WOOHOO! You're coming back!

Hah! I think we've lived here just long enough to learn to appreciate it, but not long enough for it to be home.

Have thought often of you! Write more and visit the boards perhaps? This seems good news! Hooray!

I hope so, Celia. I have been lurking around the boards. I stop by at least once or twice a week just to catch up on what's going on with everyone, but I haven't had a lot to say.

Don't worry, you can have Cougar Gold shipped several months out of the year. We have a tin in the fridge downstairs :-)

I'm very happy to hear of you moving back -- it was good to see your husband at Genghis, but we miss you!
